Coastal Development Projects
Coastal Development is a unique environment that requires exceptional skill sets. Our team has over 50 years of cumulative experience working in the Coastal Zone, with the California Coastal Commission (CCC), and with CCC staff. Let us help you navigate this complex approval process.
Regulatory Document Updates
Community visions change and new laws come into effect regularly now. To implement changes, accurate plans, codes, and illustrations need to be developed or updated to match the goals and policies of the community. Community Catalyst has developed and updated many long range planning tools that help facilitate implementation.
Housing Elements and Developments
As an active member of the American Planning Association (APA-CA) Legislative Review Board, and a recognized Housing Expert in the industry, Community Catalyst staff has partnered with a number of local municipalities to navigate new housing laws, and update and certify their housing element.
Since the adoption of the 2017 CA Housing Law package, multiple new legislative bills are adopted annually to help address the housing crises. These laws have big impacts on the processing and privileges afforded to residential developments. Community Catalyst can help you stay up to date on new legislation and develop design tools to help implement HCD requirements.
Planning and Entitlements
All development needs review in one form or another by a local agency, and each agency has a distinctive review process with its own language and regulations. This can be a daunting task if you don’t know the process.
Community Catalyst has worked with agencies all over California and understands that each city has its own goals and policies that they are implementing and knows how to work within those regulations to help facilitate win-win developments for the community and the developer.
If you are stuck in the process or new to this type of review, we can help bring certainty to your city’s review process and reduce review processing times.
Public Art Projects
Would you like to infuse a public art program in your community but are not sure where to start? We have worked with both cities and grassroots organizations to develop and implement successful art programs. Communities gain cultural, social, and economic value through public art. Let us help you create an art program that will lead to better spaces with a stronger sense of place and identity.
